Responsibilities:
- Hire, train, and supervise student services department coordinators and assistants
- Staff the front desk of the department through creation and maintenance of shift schedule; covering shifts, phone, and front desk as needed
- Authorize timesheets; track hours to budget
- Close out cash register
- Review available program information to determine additional information needed to interpret programs to public. Find additional information and distribute to department coordinators and assistants.
- Facilitate site meetings with stakeholders
- Regular visits to all sites (4-6 visits per month)
- Coordinate communication between all sites
- Meet regularly with Director of Student Services to report on customer satisfaction and the on-going customer services issues with MacPhail’s students, families, guests and faculty
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Education: B.A. or equivalent experience
Experience: 2-4 years job experience preferred
Knowledge/Skills: Excellent customer service skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook. Solid working knowledge of registration systems or sequential databases. Strong organizational, problem solving, and communications skills. Excellent administrative and supervision skills.
Physical Demands: Infrequent lifting and carrying of up to 25 lbs. Must be able to sit for extended periods of time; frequently working at a keyboard for up to 4 hours at a time. Frequent transition from sitting to standing. Frequent standing up to 1 hour at a time.

Suzuki Violin Instructor

Status: Part-Time with possibility of growing to full time.

Location: Minneapolis and White Bear Lake, MN
Responsibilities:
- Teaching Suzuki private and group instruction in a newly forming program at MacPhail’s new access site. Teaching hours to include daytime, afternoons, evenings and/or Saturdays.
- Schedule, organize and present parent training sessions, studio recitals and group concerts at the WBL venue.
- Participate in the promotion and recruiting of families in the new program.
- Possible Saturday group teaching hours available in the existing downtown Suzuki program.
- Perform general faculty responsibilities according to the guidelines listed in the Faculty handbook including: registration paperwork, attendance records and faculty meetings.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have:
- Master’s Degree in Music with emphasis in Suzuki pedagogy and performance, or the equivalent SAA approved Suzuki teacher training through book 4
- Violin as primary instrument, but capability to teach viola as well is a plus, but not required.
- At least 3 years of Suzuki studio and Suzuki group teaching experience is a plus, but not a requirement.
- Dedication to working in a collaborative professional environment in a first-rate community music school

- Possible opportunities to teach rock bands and/or jazz combos, and rock and/or jazz summer camps.
- Perform with faculty jazz groups.

Qualifications:

- Neurologic Music Therapy Certification
- Ability to teach piano, voice and guitar to individuals various diagnoses.

- Ability to play and teach additional instruments preferred.
