- Notebook: Be sure to bring a notebook or have some other way to save your ideas.
- Instrument: Songwriters are encouraged to bring their acoustic or electric instruments to camp, along with any accessories (camp, tuner, strap, etc.). MacPhail will have pianos and keyboards for students to use.
- DAW (Digital Audio Workstation): Songwriters may also bring an iPad, Chromebook or laptop with DAW installed (i.e., Logic Pro, Garage Band, Abelton, Live, Bandlab, Soundtrap, etc.).

Songwriters Lab Summer Camp: August 3-7

Per 30 minute lesson $48.00-$55.00
Discover your voice and share your story at our week-long Songwriting Lab at MacPhail! Designed for students 14 to 19, this program provides an inspiring and supportive environment to explore the art of songwriting.
Participants will learn techniques for creating melodies, crafting lyrics, working with chord progressions, song form and rhythm while developing their unique musical style. Through interactive discussions, collaboration, and one-on-one mentoring with experienced songwriters, students will refine their songs and bring them to life. The camp wraps up with a live performance where participants share their original creations.
All levels and musical backgrounds are welcome—join us to write, create, and connect through music!

How to Get Started
- Tell us about your musical interests, goals, and scheduling preferences by completing the Student Placement Form.
- When you’ve submitted the form, our placement team will find the ideal teacher for you, based on your requests.
- The placement team will reach out to you to introduce your teacher and arrange a regular time for your lessons.
