In our past series on Protest music we examined what constitutes a protest music and how it has been used to unite people to act against injustice in society. We focused on protest music in a historical context and looked at its use in times gone by. In this 4-part series, we’ll explore modern protest music that has come recent movements that have come to the forefront during current events:

Black Lives Matter
ICE/DHS/Civil Rights
Climate Activism
Each week we will explore one of these topics using music of various genres and styles to study how the artists use their work to build awareness and cultivate societal change.

How to Get Started
- Tell us about your musical interests, goals, and scheduling preferences by completing the Student Placement Form.
- When you’ve submitted the form, our placement team will find the ideal teacher for you, based on your requests.
- The placement team will reach out to you to introduce your teacher and arrange a regular time for your lessons.
