Outstanding music education for an exceptional community
MacPhail – Austin expands access to quality musical opportunities in Austin in its state-of-the-art music education center, made possible by support from the Hormel Foundation. In a city home to 48 languages, the outstanding Austin faculty use the power of music to foster communication and connection across a diverse population. Here, students from Austin Public Schools take individual lessons on 15 instruments and voice, young children benefit from Sing Play Learn early childhood classes, and individual and group instruction offer inspirational learning opportunities for adults.

About MacPhail – Austin
MacPhail Center for Music – Austin first opened its doors in 2015. In September 2020, in partnership with Austin Public Schools and with support from the Hormel Foundation, the facility was expanded into a state-of-the-art music education center.
The center includes six teaching studios, eight practice rooms, a percussion studio, early childhood studio, suites for band and choir, orchestra space. In addition, the center has a music therapy studio, electric music keyboards lab, a beautiful recital hall, and the “Learning Stairs,” a feature modeled after MacPhail’s Minneapolis location that provides a community place to share music and learning with one another.

This collaborative adult choir was brought to Austin by MacPhail Center for Music and Riverland Community College. Our mission is to reach the community through song while providing a friendly, flexible, fun environment to continue learning and enjoying music.
