Composition Workshop: Composing for Voice & Piano

Participate in person or online.

Sign up for this class to develop your skills composing for solo voice accompanied by the piano and have your piece performed! You may write an art song or musical theater type of song. Jimmy Finch and Alexandra Sapan will be the vocalists for the class, and you will get to write for one of them accompanied by Sarah Miller on piano.

The first class will be a reading of your rough draft to elicit suggestions for improvements. The second class will be to put in final refinements. Then your piece will be premiered at the spring MacPhail Composition Recital on Sunday, June 8th at 12:30 p.m.
