MacPhail Northside Youth Orchestra (MNYO)
MacPhail Northside Youth Orchestra (MNYO) is a tuition-free youth orchestra for middle and high school-aged students with some previous experience on an instrument. Based in north Minneapolis, MNYO is full of enthusiastic musicians who participate in group rehearsals, sectionals, and bucket drumming.
This ensemble is open to students in grades 7-12 with one year experience on instrument. Exceptions may apply.
MNYO’s 2024-2025 season begins in October. Rehearsals will be held in person on Saturdays 1:00-3:00pm at Ascension Catholic School.
The Audition/First Day will take place Saturday October 5, 1:00-3:00pm.
Auditions will include:
- Two (one octave) scales of your choice or One (two octave) scale of your choice.
- One piece (2-3 mins) that you are currently working on or have worked on over the summer.
- There may be a short sight-reading piece.
