Interested in the MMFL Madeline Island Vocal Retreat but worried about the stress of being away from home? We have developed an option for you! Join us for the first MMFL Vocal STAYcation! This 5-day retreat will have the same basic structure as the Madeline Island retreat, but with a shorter commute to our Apple Valley site, making it perfect for those who find it difficult to be away from home.

Each day offers an opportunity for a variety of musical experiences including vocal warmups, vocal technique, group ensemble singing and masterclasses.

• Participants are encouraged to bring a solo piece to work on in two 30-minute private coaching sessions.
• In the daily masterclasses, individuals will have the opportunity to present their solo for feedback from instructors and peers. in a supportive, non-threatening environment.
• Feeling intimidated about performing solo? There’s plenty to be gained from participating in the group ensemble and observing the masterclasses if you don’t feel comfortable singing alone.
• Be prepared for laughter and fun as we push the envelope exploring singing and vocal delivery, preparation and emotional interpretation to deliver a memorable performance that will convey the meaning of the music through integrated performance practice.
• We’ll also take a group outing to a local performance one evening, the cost of which is included in the price of the program, and share lunch together daily to help build community and foster friendships between participants.

Our Apple Valley site is located at 14500 Cedar Avenue in Apple Valley.

There is a parking lot right outside the building with plenty of FREE parking! The one-level building has no steps and is easy to navigate with minimal walking.

$875 – Includes two 30-minute private coaching sessions, 17.5 hours of instruction with three teaching artists, daily lunch, and a group outing to a performance.

A 100% refund will be issued if a written (or email) cancellation notice is issued prior to June 1, 2025.

After the June 1, 2025 registration deadline, no refunds will be issued.
