MacPhail’s faculty concerts offer an opportunity to hear exceptional performances from our outstanding faculty of teaching artists. Many faculty members use these concerts as an opportunity for collaboration and innovation. All faculty concerts are free to the public.

Several Master Classes and Workshops are presented throughout the year by MacPhail’s talented faculty and outside guests. Master Classes and Workshops focus on technique, intonation, improvisation and performance practices.

Madeline Island Chamber Music

Madeline Island Chamber Music is devoted to educating and nurturing the next generation of musicians through concentrated study and performance of chamber music on verdant, historic Madeline Island. The program also provides public performances, community education programs, and a residency program in the Twin Cities.

Achievement Day & Performance Festival

Students who participate in Achievement Day will receive written feedback from faculty judges as a part of their “Achievement Review.” This mid-year opportunity is a great motivator and goal towards which students can work. Achievement Day open to students of all instruments, all ages, and abilities.
