Andrea Stern, harp instructor, has been at MacPhail since 2005. She has been teaching for more than 25 years, and enjoys working with students of all ages orienting students to the wonder of the harp. In addition to individual lessons, Andrea also teaches adult harp ensemble.
Andrea has performed as a soloist and with chamber ensembles and orchestras from Minnesota to Maracaibo, Venezuela. She was principal harpist for three years with the Maracaibo Symphony, and has performed with the Phoenix, Hong Kong, Hartford, Duluth, and Fargo Symphonies. She has given concerts around the world as a featured performer on cruise ships. Most recently, she was principal harpist for the Minnesota Opera. She has been on the roster of Young Audiences and COMPAS, giving concerts and workshop for children all over Minnesota.
Andrea trained at the Cleveland Institute of Music, the New England Conservatory and the University of Arizona.
