Ben Abrahamson
Ben Abrahamson’s patient, attentive teaching has helped students of all backgrounds develop improvisational freedom, technique, and creative drive on the guitar.
Ben’s passion for flamenco drove him to Taller de Músics in Barcelona, Spain, where he studied under Juan Ramón Caro. Ben performs as an accompanist for Zorongo Flamenco Dance Theatre and has shared the stage with mentors like Michael Hauser, Susana di Palma, La Conja, Billy Steele, Chuscales, Pedro Cortes Jr., Joan Griffith, and Gary Lee Joyner. Ben has a Bachelor of Arts degree in music from Macalester College, St. Paul, Minnesota.
As a composer, Ben has written works for the Minneapolis Guitar Quartet, Macalester Jazz Band, Muhlenberg Theatre and Dance, and Ted speaker/multimedia artist Phil Hansen. Ben released his latest album NEOLITHIC in Jan 2020; fingerstylist Tim Sparks described Ben’s compositions as “extraordinary labyrinths of imagination”.
