Craig Anderson has taught electric and acoustic guitar and theory at MacPhail since 1990, with 30 years of experience teaching rock, pop, jazz, and blues music. Patient and kind with students, he uses an innovative and largely self-developed curriculum.
The author of six guitar instruction books, Craig chaired the guitar department for 19 years. He has enjoyed a 20-year professional performing career playing rock, pop, blues, R&B, and jazz electric guitar with the Bernie Edstrom Group, Mick Sterling & the Stud Bros, Little Anthony and the Imperials, The Drifters, and hundreds of commercial music jobbing gigs. He has also taught 18 members of MacPhail’s faculty and staff.
He holds a Bachelors of Arts degree from Augsburg College.
