Jacob Crosby
Jacob Crosby is a violin and viola teacher in the Individual Instruction, Summer Camps, and MacPhail Music for Life™ departments of MacPhail – Austin since 2021. He is currently teaching middle school orchestra in Austin, MN and prior to that taught elementary/beginning orchestra in Robbinsdale, MN. He has taught private lessons since 2014.
Jacob teaches students of many different backgrounds, from beginners to advanced high school levels. He is fluent in the Suzuki Method, and uses it at all levels of teaching. He is also fluent in Barbara Barber Scales, Kruetzer and Mazas Etudes, and the Essential Elements for Strings series.
Jacob holds two degrees from the University of Northwestern in St. Paul, one in Music Education and the other in Music Composition. He is currently the Principal Violist of the Austin Symphony Orchestra.
