Katie Condon is on the piano faculty and teaches general music and musicianship the School Partnerships program. She has extensive experience teaching general music with an early childhood emphasis and for many years was the Director of MacPhail’s School Partnerships department. She enjoys teaching students of all ages. Though she is classically trained, she incorporates a wide variety of genres into her teaching. Katie received a Fulbright Distinguished Teaching Award to study music education systems in Helsinki, Finland in spring 2014. Outside of MacPhail, Katie is the Education Specialist for Classical MPR. She narrates the Friends of the Minnesota Orchestra’s Kinder Konzerts Series and consults on curriculum for the Minnesota Orchestra’s Young People’s Concerts. She has composed children’s musicals for the Summer Youth Theatre, and performs live, improvised accompaniments for silent films for Minnesota Film Arts and the Trylon Cinema. Katie has a Bachelor of Arts in piano performance from the University of St. Thomas and a Master of Music from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL.
