Lorene Strobel has been teaching piano at MacPhail—Austin since 2015. She has over 20 years of teaching experience, from individual instruction to large group ensembles. She also has experience as an elementary and preschool teacher and a private reading tutor.
Lorene notes that teaching in Austin gives the opportunity to meet many learners from diverse backgrounds. She believes each student has an important story and brings richness to the classroom environment. Children are naturally curious, and Lorene views it as her privilege to foster their curiousness about the world of music.
Lorene has worked with the MacPhail Children’s Community Chorus, the Cabaret of Riverland Community College and the Northwestern Singers in Austin. She is a longstanding teacher at Faith Church’s Music and Drama Camp, and currently serves as the music teacher at Hollandale Christian School. She serves as on the board of the Austin Symphony Orchestra and is a member of their chorus.
She holds a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education with a Music Education minor from the University of Wisconsin—Eau Claire, and a reading licensure from St. Mary’s University of Minnesota.
