Lorie Hippen Enblom has been a music educator, conductor/clinician and freelance violinist for the past 40 years.
As an active professional freelance violinist, she has performed with many professional ensembles and musical organizations, including the Minneapolis Pops orchestra, Theater Latte Da, Minnesota Sinfonia, SkyLark Opera, Minnesota Opera, among several others.
Ms. Hippen Enblom is a versatile violinist and has enjoyed performing an eclectic blend of musical genres with many national and international artists in high visibility venues. As a conductor, she has served as clinician and festival conductor for school orchestras in the region and has held conducting positions for civic orchestras in the Twin Cities area. She is active as a music educator at the state level having served as president of the Minnesota String and Orchestra Teachers Association (MNSOTA) and as an adjudicator for the Minnesota State High School League contests. She has recently retired as a school orchestra educator after serving 37 years, primarily in the Minneapolis School District.
She holds a Bachelors degree in Music Education from the University of Minnesota and has pursued two years of graduate study in Violin Performance at the university.
Favorite non-musical hobby: I am an avid golfer, and I enjoy hiking, bicycling and spending time in the north woods.
