Make a Gift of Stock

Stock gifts allow you to take advantage of tax savings and are an easy and convenient way to support MacPhail Center for Music. They are tax-deductible to the full extent provided by law.

To make a gift, please follow the steps below.

1. Provide your Financial Advisor with MacPhail’s account information:

Recipient Organization: US Bank N.A.
Depository Trust Company (DTC) #: 2803
Federal Tax ID #: 41-1729340
For Further Credit (FFC): MacPhail Center for Music Quasi 080022791900

If you want to gift anything other than DTC-eligible securities, please contact Megan Luke, CFO, at [email protected]. She will provide you with those instructions.

2. Please notify MacPhail once you have requested the stock transfer.

When you and/or your broker inform us of your stock gift, including your name, type of stock, and number of shares, we can send you a tax receipt for your records. If you do not notify us, we may not know who donated because the bank does not always inform us of the donor.

Give through your Donor Advised Fund

A donor-advised fund (DAF) acts like a charitable savings account, allowing you to make a charitable donation, receive an immediate tax benefit, and then recommend grants to charitable organizations from your fund over time. MacPhail welcomes gifts from your DAF.

Employer Matching Gifts

Many companies match an employee’s donation to non-profit organizations like MacPhail with a corporate donation of the same amount. Your contribution is effectively doubled.

Please check with your employer—typically your Human Resources department—to see if they have a matching gift program. Most companies ask you to complete and return a short paper or online form and may require MacPhail’s tax identification number: 41-1729340.

If your employer uses a paper form, please complete your section and mail it with your donation to:

MacPhail Center for Music
SDS-12-2599
P.O. BOX 86
Minneapolis, MN 55486-2599

If your employer uses an online form, MacPhail will be notified by your employer of the application.

IRA Charitable Rollover Gift

The IRA Charitable Rollover enables you to make an income tax-free transfer of any amount up to $100,000 per year from your IRA to a qualified charity like MacPhail if:

Also known as a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD), this charitable distribution can help fulfill your required minimum distribution and is not considered taxable income.

In-Kind Gifts

MacPhail accepts tax-deductible donations of tangible property such as musical instruments. MacPhail is required to assess each item prior to acceptance. We are happy to talk with you about an item you are considering for donation. Please email Christina Peterson, Development Associate or call 612.767.5342 to inquire about in-kind gifts

Scholarships & Named Funds

Creating and naming gift funds provides a meaningful way for donors to pay tribute to loved ones, friends and mentors, and is a source of vital support for MacPhail. If you’re interested in exploring scholarships and named funds, please contact Christine Vander Hook or call 612.767.5309.
