Theatrical Music: Storytelling Through Sound
How does music create drama? In this two-part series, we will explore how composers have used music to tell stories, create characters, heighten emotion, and captivate audiences.
From Shakespearean theater and Baroque opera to ballet, musical theater, film scores, art song, chamber music, and symphonic masterpieces, we will listen to the many ways music adds to theatrical experiences.

About Individual Lessons at MacPhail

How to Get Started
- Tell us about your musical interests, goals, and scheduling preferences by completing the Student Placement Form.
- When you’ve submitted the form, our placement team will find the ideal teacher for you, based on your requests.
- The placement team will reach out to you to introduce your teacher and arrange a regular time for your lessons.
