A Minneapolis native and MacPhail alumnus, Michael Sutton joined the faculty in 2016. He has been a proud member of the Minnesota Orchestra since 1997. Mr. Sutton has bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Manhattan School of Music, where he studied with Raphael Bronstein and Arianna Bronne. He lived abroad for two summers each in Germany and Japan, serving as concertmaster in the Schleswig-Holstein and Pacific Music Festivals. Michael was a concertmaster for the New World Symphony in Miami Beach for three and a half years. More recently Michael was appointed concertmaster of the Bloomington Symphony Orchestra in 2015. Mr. Sutton is married to, and happily shares a studio with, the ever vivacious Beatrice Blanc (also MacPhail faculty).
