American Bluegrass Ensemble (ages 16+) – FALL Semester

Open to all students ages 16 through adults with 2+ years of experience playing their instrument. Experience reading staff notation and/or tablature is preferable.

This ensemble focuses on the traditional folk music of the United States and its influences, including but not limited to bluegrass, country/western, Celtic, Cajun, and blues. It is open to any instrument, but will primarily focus on guitar, mandolin, fiddle, banjo, dobro, bass, and dulcimer. Vocalists are also encouraged to join. Students will learn melodies, chordal accompaniments, ensemble skills, improvisation, and more.

Thursdays 6:30-7:30pm, 12 weeks starting October 1.

About Individual Lessons at MacPhail

Our outstanding faculty is equipped to teach beginning through advanced music lessons. At all levels, the music lessons are student-centered to develop personalized musical and technical skills.

How to Get Started

  1. Tell us about your musical interests, goals, and scheduling preferences by completing the Student Placement Form.
  2. When you’ve submitted the form, our placement team will find the ideal teacher for you, based on your requests.
  3. The placement team will reach out to you to introduce your teacher and arrange a regular time for your lessons.
