MacPhail’s believes that musicians (of all ages) can best develop their artistic potential in a supportive, non-judgmental and motivating musical environment. Offerings for voice students include individual instruction, shared lessons, group classes, summer camps, and choirs.
Whether you are an absolute beginner or experienced vocalist, MacPhail has an expert teaching artist to assist students in finding their individual sound. You will gain the tools, techniques, and creative encouragement that you need to develop your work in any style you chose.

Individual Lessons
MacPhail provides music lessons and classes for 30+ instruments and voice. Offering piano, guitar, percussion, strings, and brass lessons in Minnesota or online.
Group Classes
Your musical journey doesn’t have to be a solo act. Learn, play, and grow – together. There’s power in making music as a group.
Choirs
Make music with your community. MacPhail’s choirs offer opportunities to grow in musicianship in a supportive community. Both auditioned and open opportunities are available.

Prelude: Singer-Actor Lab
An auditioned yearlong program (September – May) for high school students ages 14-18 who seek an environment where they can experiment and discover new possibilities as performing artists.

I now can encourage others to follow their dreams or explore their passions through singing. The perfect vocal music for me is inspired by the word. The text sets up the rhythm and the melody, and harmony reinforce the emotions. Together they make the perfect atmosphere to tell a story. Helping people find and tell their stories through singing is why I teach at MacPhail.”
